Fresh date for councillors to consider controversial Norton Lindsey poultry farm plans
Plans to reinstate a "dilapidated" poultry farm in Norton Lindsey are set to go before district councillors again next week - six months after they first looked at the scheme.
If approved the development would see two poultry houses demolished and rebuilt despite objections from over 100 residents.
A number of applications to renovate the site have already been refused, and Warwick District Council planners had originally recommended the latest Land at Ward Hill application be given the go ahead.
But councillors decided to defer the decision last summer saying more information on access to the site was needed.
A fresh report was then published by the district council last November recommending the scheme be turned down.
It was set to be discussed by the planning committee on November 9, but was withdrawn from the agenda before the meeting.
But now the application has been relisted for January 10 and is still recommended for refusal.
Following discussions with Warwickshire County Council highways team, WDC said vehicles would not be able to safely enter the farm.
"In the opinion of the local planning authority the development proposed fails to demonstrate that vehicles serving the site cannot adequately enter, manoeuvre and exit the site in a forward gear," the report said.
"Due to the nature of the vehicles to be servicing the site, the proposal is considered to inadequately demonstrate that safe and appropriate access can be provided.
"In the absence of information satisfactorily demonstrating safe and appropriate access can be facilitated the development is considered to be contrary to the aforementioned policy."
Local MP Matt Western has also objected to the proposals, alongside Norton Lindsey Parish Council and ward councillor Cllr Jan Matecki.
