Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

'No Escape' for Neighbours

Neighbours say there is "no escape" from the "stressful" amount of noise from the jousting at Warwick Castle, as the town's main tourist attraction looks to extend the permission for its new arena.

Owner Merlin was given permission for the new jousting area in 2022, with Warwick District Council (WDC) allowing it to be in place during the summer months, for two years.

Now the company wants to extend that permission to allow the twice daily shows to take place from May to September for up to five years.

ATM's to go

Council planners have signed off on plans to remove signs and two ATM's from a bank in Warwick.

Lloyds on Swan Street is winding down to closing, as the bank shuts branches across the country.

The Warwick branch will shut on 24 June 2025, as the bank axes 45 sites nationwide.

But Lloyds has now been given listed building consent to remove the ATM's and signage.

New Tattoo Studio

An empty Warwick restaurant could be turned into a tattoo parlour if plans are signed off by the district council.

A planning application has been submitted to repurpose the former home of Tasca Dali on High Street into a studio.

Plans show there will be no physical changes to the outside of the grade II listed building, but there would be changes internally.
