Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.

Poultry Plans

Warwick's MP said he was relieved to hear that "flawed" plans to rebuild to poultry houses in Norton Lindsey have been refused.

Access issues scuppered the latest application for Ward Hill, with MP for Warwick and Leamington Matt Western among 100 people who objected to the scheme.

Similar plans had already been refused by Warwick District Council before its planning committee rejected yet another proposal last week.

5G Mast

A 20-metre high 5G mast could be built near Warwick Hospital after plans were signed off by the district council.

EE and Hutchison 3G had applied to build the new monopole on a verge along Guys Cross Park Road, to replace the existing telecoms set up on a "dilapidated" water tower.

While the pole, which has now been given prior approval by Warwick District Council, will be close to homes, the developers said a number of other locations had been considered but discounted.

Warwick Station

Platform one at Warwick Station will be shortened from the end of February as work to install two new lifts gets underway.

A multi-million-pound investment by Network Rail will see the new lifts installed in the existing subway as part of the government's access for all scheme.

They will provide step-free access for passengers using platforms 1 and 2 for the first time.
