Warwick planning roundup: Petrol station, Holland & Barrett and 3,000-house estate plans
Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
Petrol Station Plans
Plans to demolish and rebuild a Warwick petrol station have been approved, despite the vocal opposition of neighbours.
Having previously deferred making a decision to ask for more information, councillors this week signed off on plans for the current Stratford Road filling station to be flattened and replaced with a modern facility.
Euro Garages Group has now been given planning permission to install new EV chargers, a new retail unit and petrol pubs on the site.

Holland & Barrett
An international tutoring business has seen its plans to turn a former Warwick shop into an educational centre blocked by the district council.
Mathnasium had applied for planning permission to convert the closed Holland & Barrett store on High Street into a tutoring space, adding to its 1,000 centres worldwide.
The company said the town centre unit was the perfect location, owing to the convenience for parents and the number of surrounding businesses.

School Places Plan
Plans to relocate a village primary school and more than quadruple its intake are to be opened up to the public early next year.
The building of 3,000 new homes as part of a new community at Upper Lighthorne is set to see Lighthorne Heath Primary School, Stratford Road, Lighthorne Heath, relocate half a mile away to a 2.8 hectare plot dedicated to new primary school provision.
The current school has a published admission number (PAN), the volume of pupils which can be accommodated in each year group without causing problems, of 13, meaning it caters for up to 91 children at any one time.
