By James Smith 28th Mar 2026
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Kiosk Plans
A proposal to install a new digital communication kiosks in Warwick have been submitted.
The kiosks aim to modernise public phone infrastructure while adding emergency and digital services and are planned for 20 Coten End and 82-90 Emscote Road, both of which are areas with an array of shops.
The proposed black kiosks will combine traditional public telephony with a range of new features, including touchscreen wayfinding, public Wi-Fi capability and integrated defibrillators.
Village Hall PV's
Installing solar panels on the roof of a local village hall would help keep it financially viable, the charity which runs it has said.
Lowsonford Village Hall has applied for the panels on part of the roof at the Rookery Lane site, saying they could help save up to £2,000 a year.
If approved, the development would deliver 11.625kw of "solar pv generated capacity" and battery storage.
House Refused
Council planners have thrown out an application for a new house which would have been built in the garden of an existing Warwick home.
H & M Construction had applied for planning permission for the three-bedroom home on Shelley Avenue.
But Warwick District Council has this week refused to grant planning permission.
