Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Five Guys Moves Forward

The iconic burger brand, Five Guys, has confirmed that its brand-new Leamington Spa store is opening this October.

The store will open its doors on Monday 6 October, offering its classic burgers and an unmatched drive-thru experience.

The new restaurant will be based at The Shires Retail Park in Leamington.

Traffic Plans

Warwickshire County Council has announced a traffic management suspension on the highway improvement works on the A425 Banbury Road to support The ASPS housing development. 

This means non-essential roadworks will be paused between 18 October and 2 November, temporarily restoring two-way traffic to the carriageway. 

This is in order to remove unnecessary congestion as National Grid uses the school break to carry out statutory works on Myton Road.

Petrol Station Planned

Shell UK has asked for permission to make more changes to its designs for a revamp of its Hatton petrol station.

Last year the company was given planning permission to demolish and rebuild the current sales building at its Hertford Hill site, and to build a new EV charging "hub".

Since then Shell has already modified these plans to move the sales building away from the nearby canal.
