Warwick planning roundup: EV chargers, housing associations and pub's refurb
By James Smith 28th Feb 2026
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
EV Charging Plan
A number of electric vehicle charges could be built at a local pub if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.
Raw Charging has applied for planning permission for the facilities at The Royal Horse on Poseidon Way.
Plans show three chargers would be installed, providing six charging bays.
The works would see the chargers built over eight spaces - meaning two are lost.
War on Mould!
Private and social landlords are set to face a grilling from Warwickshire councillors over "horrific problems" reported to them about mould in homes.
Warwickshire's adult social care and health overview and scrutiny committee, a panel of elected officials from county, district and borough councils, is set to ask housing associations and representatives of private landlords to answer questions on whether enough is being done.
Awaab's Law, named after toddler Awaab Ishak, the two-year-old who died due to complications related to the presence of mould in his rented home in Rochdale, compels social landlords to address all emergency hazards including damp and mould within fixed timeframes. Private landlords are set to face similar requirements through the emerging Renters' Rights Act.
Pub's Makeover
A popular town centre pub in Warwick is preparing for its next chapter.
The Globe on Theatre Street is shut for "extensive refurbishment" having been taken over by new owners
It will reopen again in June.
