By James Smith 19th Feb 2026
A popular town centre pub in Warwick is preparing for its next chapter.
The Globe on Theatre Street is shut for "extensive refurbishment" having been taken over by new owners
It will reopen again in June.
The pub's website said: "First opened in 1788 as the Globe Inn Commercial & Posting House, The Globe in Warwick is situated on the corner of Theatre Street, between Warwick Castle and Market Place.
"In the early 1800s, this Grade II listed building became a theatre hosting pantomimes and plays, and until the 1960s was accessible via an iron bridge spanning a ravine-like street named The Holloway.
"We are currently closed for an extensive refurbishment of this beautiful pub and rooms and look forward to welcoming you all back again early in the summer.
"If you would like us to keep you up to date on news from the pub as the work progresses, follow us on Instagram and Facebook."

Brunning and Price are delighted confirmed it had taken over at The Globe on Monday 16 February.
The company said: "If you have not heard of Brunning and Price, we are a collection of pubs, some (like the Globe), with bedrooms, which started in the Northwest of England and North Wales, but now with a substantial branch of the family in the South.
"Each pub has its own style and flavour, run very much by the local team who choose good cask beers, freshly cooked food, decent and affordable wine and a good shelf of spirits.
"We run informal places for people who like to meet, eat, drink and talk in a relaxed friendly atmosphere."
