Here are the biggest planning stories from the last two weeks in and around Warwick.

Tachbrook Park Plans

Detailed plans for the council's proposed country park have been revealed.

Orchards, two allotment areas, a community growing area, a cafe, and children's play areas are all set to be included in the plans.

This as well as a 'ecological wetland habitat' with viewing platform, a wildflower meadow, and a children's play trail.

St Mary's Lands

Warwick District Council has approved a further £50,000 spend on the St Mary's Lands Masterplan.

The money will be spent investigating changes to the golf course, a new play area and inspections on the cycle track.

Warwick Castle Hotel

Planners have recommended that the controversial 60-bed hotel at Warwick Castle be approved.

Nearly 100 objections have been made by residents but the council said: "The public benefits arising from these proposals have been considered and officers are satisfied that in this particular instance, a sufficiently clear and convincing argument has been demonstrated which outweighs the degree of harm identified."

The castle already provides accommodation through 31 glamping pods in the £5million Knight's Village as well as the £569-a-night Caesar's Tower Suites.

WDC's planning committee will discuss the plans this week.
