Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

'Alien' Billboard

An appeal has been lodged after plans to install a huge digital billboard at Racing Club Warwick's ground were refused.

Warwick District Council planners blocked Alight Media's scheme which would have seen an LED screen measuring 6.4 metres by 3.4 metres built.

The local authority sided with the objections of locals and Warwick Town Council to halt the Hampton Road development.

Hospital Plans

A building at Warwick Hospital which is in a "poor state of repair" could be demolished and replaced.

South Warwickshire NHS University Foundation Trust has asked for prior approval to flatten block 140 which is in one of the car parks at Lakin Road.

The application to Warwick District Council said: "The proposed demolition relates to a modular building (Block 140) located in Car Park C of Warwick Hospital, accessed off Lakin Road."

Europa Way

After months of disruption caused by roadworks on the Europa Way, the development has now been completed. 

The Europa Way Improvement Project on the A452 Ford Foundry caused several traffic restrictions along Myton Road, Old Warwick Road, and Queensway roundabouts,

It aims to provide a major highways and sustainable transport project that will deliver long-lasting benefits for the region.
