Warwick planning roundup: 20 homes, 'lying' developers and office plan
By James Smith 14th Feb 2026
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Homes Objections
Safety concerns have been raised over the roads for 20 planned new Warwick homes.
Sunkari Ltd submitted a planning application for 20, one-bedroom flats on Nelson Lane last year.
Plans submitted to Warwick District Council show the block of apartments would be built on scrub land.
'Lying' Developers
A member of Warwick District Council's cabinet expressed frustration that residents are "continuously lied to by developers" in a rant related to Aldi's store in Leamington Spa.
The supermarket giant was slammed last month for trying to open up to customers what is currently a delivery-only access connected to Queensway.
Planning conditions put in place when the store was built dictate customers must access via the roundabout linked to Tachbrook Park Drive.
Homes to Return
Council planners have granted planning permission for an office in the centre of Warwick to be turned back into homes.
Warwick District Council had already granted listed building consent for the works on the grade II listed building, but has now given the green light for a full planning application.
The scheme will see Signature Quality Refurbished Homes ltd turn the High Street office into two homes, with a single storey extension built on the back of one of the homes.
