Objections over safety to 20 new homes in Warwick
By James Smith 13th Feb 2026
Safety concerns have been raised over the roads for 20 planned new Warwick homes.
Sunkari Ltd submitted a planning application for 20, one-bedroom flats on Nelson Lane last year.
Plans submitted to Warwick District Council show the block of apartments would be built on scrub land.
However, Warwickshire County Council's highways department has now objected to the application, raising concerns about the safety of the roads onto the development.
"The highway authority has concerns regarding the two access points onto Nelson Lane having potential safety implications," it said.
Officers said a road safety audit must be submitted to the application.

The latter wrote: "Housing strategy cannot support the proposal in its current form.
"Further engagement is encouraged, including robust viability review and consideration of future affordable housing delivery option."
The planning application states: "The layout of the site has been designed to make the most efficient use of the land, to respect the neighbouring properties and to respond to the topography of the site.
"The proposed development has been divided into two number blocks – Block A and Block B to reduce the overall massing of the development."
