A petrol station in Warwick has been given permission to sell alcohol 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Euro Garages Limited has been granted the alcohol licence by Warwick District Council for the Asda Express store at its Esso filling station on Stratford Road.

The granting of the application comes as the same firm has also been given planning permission to completely demolish and rebuild the station.

"A CCTV system will be installed and maintained at the premises," the application for the alcohol licence said.

"Cameras will cover internal areas and the external area immediately in front of the store.

"The system will be capable of continuously recording and copies of such recordings shall be kept for a period of not less than 31 days and handed to the police or authorised person upon production of a compliant 'access request'."

Euro Garages also says a till prompt for challenge 25 will be introduced.

Spirits will also only be displayed behind the counter and no 200ml miniatures will be sold.

The Asda store on the Stratford Road opened officially last month.
