A 33-year-old man from Warwick has been charged with drink driving amid a Christmas message from police saying "sleeping the booze off" does not work.
"As most of you know, the idea that 'sleeping the booze off' can magically make someone fit to drive the morning after is a complete myth," Warwickshire Police has said.
"All too often - and especially over Christmas - we come across drivers who are still well over the limit 'the morning after'."
At around 8am on Saturday 20 December the Warwick man was arrested on his way to work "after a night of reportedly heavy drinking".
The force said he blew "several times" over the drink drive limit.
He will appear before magistrates on New Year's Eve.
"Our message to drivers is simple - don't drive if you've been drinking or taking drugs," police added.
"If you do, you are risking your licence and your future."
