Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

Warwick Town Council

A new Santa Christmas light has been put on display in Warwick after a young girl from the town spotted it was missing and told the council.

Warwick District Council

A third councillor has left the leading Conservative group on Warwick District Council in the space of six months.

Recycling is on the increase across Warwick district according to a councillor celebrating the success of the new 123+ waste collection service.

Residents at a block of flats have been moved to temporary accommodation by the district council after fires safety issues were detected at the building.

Parking machines across the district have been given an upgrade by the council following continued complaints by residents about the amount of time it took for payments to be processed.

Challenging issues will need to be addressed in the creation of the new South Warwickshire Local Plan which is being drawn up by Stratford and Warwick District Councils.

Local residents could be given their say on possible tighter controls on houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) across the district.

Warwickshire County Council

The decision to appoint another man to Warwickshire County Council's all-male local pension board has led to a backlash from a number of councillors who say it is vital for a woman's voice to be heard.

A successful scheme of natural flood management around Shipston could lead to further funding bids for at risk areas across Warwickshire after the Environment Agency announced that it will double the number of schemes it will support.

Road closures to install a new bridge over the A46 have been delayed until the new year, the council has announced.

The first 20,000 acorns are set to be planted by Warwickshire tree nursery.

Warwick's new all-through school at Oakley Grove is now set to cost £60.46 million – more than £10 million more than Warwickshire County Council originally budgeted for.
