Warwick District Council

Residents are being urged to make sure they are ready to vote in May by checking they have an accepted form of ID.

South Warwickshire residents and businesses are being urged to have their say on a major planning document which will decide where 35,000 new houses will be built in the area.

And the two councils are calling for residents and businesses to suggest more pieces of land in South Warwickshire that could be developed into more housing.

Meanwhile a rethinking of the green belt has been called for by the leader of Warwick District Council as it launched the latest stage of its joint South Warwickshire Local Plan with neighbours Stratford District Council.

Tenants, landlords and residents are among those asked for their views on whether stricter controls should be introduced for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).

Voluntary and community groups in Warwick can apply for grant funding totalling more than £282,000 per year to deliver four schemes on behalf of the district council to enhance the lives of the area's most vulnerable residents.

Warwick's MP said he was relieved to hear that "flawed" plans to rebuild to poultry houses in Norton Lindsey have been refused.

Warwickshire County Council

Work is set to start on a £78 million project to create a stretch of bathing quality water in the River Leam.

Local Green party councillors have described a major strategy document aimed at reducing carbon emissions across Warwickshire as "woefully inadequate".

Road and lane closures have been confirmed by the county council so the new bridge deck can be put in place across the A46 at Stoneleigh.

More than £400,000 has been secured by the county council to help pay for walking and cycling schemes across Warwickshire.
