A Warwick café has been given permission to keep its outside seating.

Café Nero had asked Warwick District Council to extend its existing pavement license for another 12 months.

The Brook Street chain has been allowed to keep its two tables and chairs until the end of September 2024.

Café Nero must also keep the seated area surrounded by barriers.

The coffee shop has been given permission to use the external seating from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday, and then from 8am to 6.30pm on Sundays.

Recently nearby Wetherspoon and the Rose and Crown have also been given permission to keep outside seating.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.

Pomeroys has also recently announced that it will be closing on Mondays and Tuesdays from October.
