Plans to turn a Warwick bed and breakfast into residential flats have been put forward to Warwick District Council.

If approved, the application will see Jersey Villa Guest House on Emscote Road and the neighbouring property converted into six flats.

Small extensions are also required for both buildings.

"The proposed apartments would provide a mix of housing to meet the needs of different age groups and occupiers," the application said.

"Furthermore, the proposed size and layout of the apartments would afford an acceptable standard of amenity for future occupiers."

Plans show the proposals would create two one-bed, two two-bed, a single three-bed and a single four-bed flats.

The proposed extension to the guest house is similar to one previously approved but not carried out.

The application added: "The proposed extension to no. 71 [next door] would be single storey with a pitched roof and this would be located to the rear of the property within the existing, enclosed rear garden area and therefore screened from public views.

"The extension would be small in scale and built in materials to match the existing building."
