Cinema club promotes connection and care for people with dementia and carers in Warwick and Leamington
A new Dementia Cinema Club has been launched at a local care home, offering people living with dementia, and their carers a safe space.
The luxury Oakley Grange Care Home in Heathcote is running the club on the first and third Monday of every month, from 2pm to 4pm.
Hosted in the home's purpose built cinema room at Cox Gardens, the club is free of charge.
"Dementia-friendly screenings offer a safe, social and supportive environment for you and your loved ones, as well as the opportunity to meet other carers and share experiences," home admissions advisor Justine Ellory said.
"Oakley Grange will provide light refreshments for carers and their loved ones."

Oakley Grange opened for the first time in July 2024, with its 66 fully furnished rooms and five deluxe care suites.

Oakley Grange also offers respite care, allowing loved ones some much-deserved time to themselves, but also potentially serving as a first step into full time care.
Currently Cinnamon is offering four weeks respite care for the price of three at Oakley Grange.

Oakley Grange is also on the lookout for community groups and organisations to make the most of its 'Community Hub' space.
Justine explained: "Any local charities, networking groups and support groups that need a private space please get in touch.
"We would love to meet you and see how we can work together.
"We are offering free refreshments and biscuits with your own private meeting space!"
