An 'Antiques Roadshow' event is heading to Oakley Grange care home this spring.

The luxury care home at Cox Gardens is throwing open its doors to the public on Thursday 8 May and welcoming antique dealer Steven B Bruce to run the event.

Steven will be sharing insights into his "incredible career" before giving locals the chance to get their possessions valued.

The Oakley team said: "Join local antique dealer Steven B Bruce for a fascinating afternoon of stories, expertise and hidden treasures.

"With a career spanning over 50 years, Steven brings his specialist knowledge in silver, wine and spirits, stamps and coins, 19th century paintings, and Worcester porcelain to Oakley for a one-of-a-kind event.

"Enjoy an hour-long conversation with Steven as he shares insights from his incredible career.

"Afterwards you'll have the opportunity to receive a valuation of your cherished items, so bring along your treasures!"

With 66 rooms, the Oakley Grange Care Home was also recently named among the best care homes in the country having scored 10 out of 10 on carehome.co.uk, a national reviews website for care homes known as 'the Tripadvisor of the care home sector'.

Part of the exclusive Cinnamon Care Collection group, Oakley Grange officially opened last year.

In addition to the 66 fully furnished rooms, Oakley Grange also has five deluxe care suites, which each include an elegant living room and kitchenette - perfect for couples or those wishing to have greater independence.

And as part of its commitment to supporting the local community, the home has also recently launched a free Dementia Cinema Club to help those living with the condition, and their carers.

The Antiques Roadshow event runs from 11am to 2pm on Thursday 8 May.
