A local market trader has opened a dedicated shop in the centre of Warwick, giving a permanent base to her extensive collection of natural wonders.

Katy Saunders opened the BeHoptimystic shop in Market Place on Saturday (May 11) after years of success selling crystals, minerals and fossils weekly at Warwick Market and others locally.

Customers can now browse the selection of pendants, fossils, and crystals in the dedicated shop.

"I've been coming to Warwick and every Saturday for the past three to four years selling crystals, fossils, minerals and associated items," Katy told Nub News.

"It's grown and developed and now I'm really happy to have opened literally round the corner from the market in lovely little shop full of character and Warwick charm.

"It's been hard work but everyone's been so supportive and it's very rewarding to hear all the positive comments from visitors to the shop."

Jamie Walker of CJ's Events Warwickshire - which runs Warwick Market - said he was "absolutely delighted" for Katy.

"This shows how key markets are, with very minimal over heads, it allows traders to grown and develop their business over months and years, until they are ready to move on to new chapters such as opening a shop," he explained.

"Seeing traders grow and filling empty shops fills our team with great joy, we're in a wonderful position to give traders a platform to grow and we love watching businesses flourish. We wish Katy all the best with her new venture."
