A traditional narrowboat, mulled wine, homemade mince pies and a four-course Christmas lunch, all while cruising through the Warwickshire countryside. That is the festive experience on offer this December as visitors are invited aboard the narrowboat Kerala for a Christmas lunch cruise along the Grand Union Canal.

The boat will depart from just outside Warwick town centre, with guests welcomed aboard with a glass of mulled wine and homemade mince pies before setting off at 10.30am.

The journey begins by heading down the locks at the Cape of Good Hope, before continuing through the countryside between Warwick and Leamington.

Along the way, passengers will be able to take in views of the surrounding countryside and the River Avon, with the canal crossing the river via an aqueduct.

Guests can choose to stay inside the warm cabin, with the glow of the boat's stove, or step outside onto the towpath to take in the winter scenery.

As the boat turns for its return journey to Warwick, lunch will be served, with a four-course Christmas meal accompanied by a glass of fizz.

The cruises will run on days between December 5 and 20, with tickets priced at £65 per person for groups of eight (image supplied)

The cruise is expected to arrive back in Warwick at around 2pm, giving guests time to finish their meal with coffee and Christmas fudge.
