Leamington-based independent financial advisers made a splash in Warwick this weekend (21 September).

Simpson Financial Services (SFS) participated in this year's Warwick Dragon Boat Race, joining other local groups to help fundraise for local charities at St Nicholas' Park.

Due to last year's cancellation of the race, the money raised from SFS' sponsorship was carried over to this year's fundraising pot, bringing the total to £1,258 for Myton Hospice and Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The total amount raised this year was around £18,000.

Several clients and friends joined the SFS team on the day.

Marketing Manager Sophie Lale said: "We always love having the opportunity to get the team together, have some competitive fun and - most importantly - raise money for brilliant causes.

"The Dragon Boat Race is a great day, it's really well organised, and this year was no exception. Although it was the first year somebody fell in..."

The day even brought a surprise when the drummer was tipped off the boat, but, being a good sport, he enjoyed the swim.

Simpson Financial Services will also be participating in this weekend's (27 September) abseil down Coventry Cathedral.
