Music lovers turned up in their hundreds for a brand new rock music event in Leamington last month.

The Windmill Hill Brewery welcomed a host of bands to its Neilston Street Taproom in May for the inaugural 'Brewstock' festival.

Hailed a "huge success" by organisers, the day was the latest in a series of events hosted by Windmill Hill and was enjoyed by all, with the Leamington venue able to showcase a huge range of original music and covers of classic rock tracks.

Such was the success of the free event, the brewery is already looking to host another and has a queue of bands wanting to be part of the next Brewstock.

"This is the first, and with your support, not the last Brewstock festival, here under the train arches," taproom manager Ben Cowan told Nub News.

"It was a great day, and we were delighted to have so many locals come down and support us and the bands."

As well as the range of rock acts, fantastic Italian food was provided by the brewery's sister restaurant Tavola, and the crowds were able to sample the wide range of Windmill Hill brews right where they are produced.

"These community-minded events are exactly what makes Leamington and South Warwickshire so special," one attendee told Nub News.

"It was a great day, with a fantastic mix of bands, great beer, great food and just a great atmosphere.

"It didn't even matter that it started to rain at one point, everyone was just there to have a great time.

"We'll definitely be back for the next one!"

The Windmill Hill Brewery is now asking local bands to get in touch if they would be interested in playing at the next event - hopefully later in the summer.

If you are a band, or a musician who wants to play, get in touch with Ben, at [email protected]

With custom built booths, a six-line tap line and a range of drinks from a variety of local producers, the Windmill Hill Brewery opened its new bar for the first time in spring 2024 and is now open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Windmill Hill was first launched by father-of-three Gavin Leach in 2017 in his garage, before moving to a farm near its namesake Chesterton Windmill and then to its current home under the arches at the Victoria Business Centre near Leamington Railway Station.
