There will be a "significantly reduced" service to Warwick's railway stations on Friday (9 January) due to Storm Goretti.

Chiltern Railways said only half its trains will run as an amber weather warning for heavy snow has been announced.

On Friday just one service per hour will run in each direction between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone - through Warwick and Leamington Spa.

There will be no Chiltern Railways service north of Birmingham Moor Street or on the line to Stratford-upon-Avon.

Hatton and Lapworth will not be served on Friday and there will be no rail replacement buses.

West Midlands Railway has advised there will be a reduced service to Stratford-upon-Avon from 7pm tonight.

Services are suspended on the Nuneaton to Kenilworth line (via Leamington Spa) on Friday.

Chiltern customers with tickets on Thursday evening or Friday can use their tickets earlier on Thursday or on Saturday 10 January instead.

Where customers no longer wish to travel, a refund can be requested from the original point of purchase.

Tony Baxter, Operations Director at Chiltern Railways, said: "I urge our customers to stay safe as Storm Goretti will cause significant disruption to our network on Friday (9 January).

"Please consider changing your travel plans where possible on Friday as a significantly reduced service will be in operation, and trains which are running are likely to be busier.

"The storm is also likely to affect evening services today (Thursday 08 January), so please check your journeys before heading out and take care."
