Road closure details announced for Warwick Mop Fair

Road closure details have been announced as Warwick Mop Fair returns for 2022.

The annual event, which is said to date back to the reign of Edward III, is hosted on the Friday and Saturday following the 12 of October, with the 'Runaway Mop' held the following Friday and Saturday.

Run on October 14, 15, 21 and 22 this year the fair will take over Market Square and the rest of the town centre as stalls and a fun fayre descend on the town.

The mop will be opened by the Mayor of Warwick and the Town Crier at 12noon on Saturday 14.

Warwick District Council has announced temporary road closures from 5pm on Thursday 13 October until 12pm Sunday 16 October and again from 5pm on Thursday 20 October until 12pm on Sunday 23 October 2022

Schedule of roads to be closed:

  • Brook Street
  • Market Place
  • Market Street – except for egress from the bus station and car park
  • New Bridge
  • New Street
  • Old Square
  • Puckering's Lane – except for egress to the bus station and car park
  • Swan Street
  • The Holloway
