Popular Warwick nightspot, Ronnie's bar, will be transformed into a creative Christmas extravaganza with the arrival of a festive pop-up showcasing independent makers and businesses.

Ronnie's bar on Jury Street will host the all-day event on Wednesday, December 7, giving people the chance to do some Christmas shopping in a unique setting, whilst enjoying festive food and drink.

So far 11 independent makers and traders have signed up, selling everything from unique Panama hats to wreaths, clothing, jewellery, candles and more. Many are local to Warwick, with some travelling from further afield.

The event will run from 11am, with the chance to tuck into mulled wine and cider from Ronnie's as well as coffees and hot chocolate from neighbouring business Jack's Shack.

It will continue into the evening when there will be live music as well as Ronnie's usual array of signature and classic cocktails among other tasty tipples.

Ronnie's bar is well known for its live music and great drinks, but is also building a reputation as a champion of fellow local businesses. In September it added 'art gallery' to its list of accolades by showcasing work from local artist Rupam 'Rupe' Barthakur on its walls, and is planning to host future pop-ups following the festive event.

Owner Phil Baker said: "Everyone in the area knows us as a great nightspot and live music venue, but we also love hosting unique events and championing independent, creative people, so after the success of our pop-up exhibition we decided to try this festive pop-up.

"We're delighted to have so many great, top quality creative businesses already signed up and the day will be the perfect opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit - browsing all the fabulous stalls while enjoying festive food and drink and some great music.

"We're hoping this will be a great success and plan to host more pop-ups in the future to offer something a bit different and work with local talent to help show off what they do and remind people that Warwick is the place to be when it comes to creativity."

The following stalls have already signed up to be at the pop-up:

  • The Rustic Shack - selling vintage finds and rustic homeware
  • Lola Loves - boutique clothing
  • Chalfin Boxer - traditional, luxury British boxer shorts
  • India by Florence - textiles inspired by India
  • Wild and Ivy Flowers - wreaths available to buy and order
  • Nourish & Nature - luxury vegan, cruelty free and 100% natural self-care products
  • VJQ Lifestyle - luxury candles, jewellery and homeware
  • Flamingo Candles - fashionable, unique candles
  • Nadia C Hats - hand-painted, sustainable, ethical Panama hats
  • Team Elite UK - outdoor sports robes and fun, warm loungewear
  • Talis Chains - beaded necklaces sunglasses, airpods and phone chains

Nadia Chalfin, from Nadia C Hats, who has helped organise the pop-up, said: "We're so excited to have brought so many talented creatives from the local area and beyond together in a unique place for this event. It's the perfect chance for people to come and see what we do, pick up gifts that they won't find anywhere else, and really get into the Christmas spirit.

"We can't wait for December 7 and hope people will come and join us in the day, or later in the evening. It's going to be a brilliant event in Warwick's festive calendar."

The pop-up starts at 11am on Wednesday, December 7 and runs until 8pm. People will be able to buy direct from traders as well as to place orders with them. Drinks will be available on the day, along with mince pies and nibbles.
