The Black Swan in Henley-in-Arden officially opened its doors today (Tuesday 8 August) with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the High Bailiff of Henley-in-Arden, Alistair Price.

The newly rebranded Heartwood Inns (formerly The White Brasserie Company) revealed it was taking over the High Street eatery in March.

Since then the company has restored the pub's Tudor-fronted building, and given a makeover to the inside, while also retaining many of its original features, including a large inglenook fireplace, wooden floors and snugs.

The inn has reopened with 120 restaurant seats, 60 seats in the bar and a 100-seat garden. It will also create 60 jobs in the area - according to Heartwood.

Managing director, Richard Ferrier, commented: "The Black Swan marks our twentieth Heartwood Inn and we are delighted to bring this historic and characterful pub back to the local community.

"We look forward to welcoming guests to enjoy our seasonal menus and wide range of drinks, including beers from local brewery Purity, as well as the signature warm welcome from our friendly team."

High Bailiff of Henley-in-Arden, Alistair Price, added: "It was an honour for my fellow members of Henley-in-Arden Court Leet and I to attend the opening of The Black Swan.

"This pub has played such a key role in our town over the years and we are delighted to see such a thoughtful refurbishment for our community to enjoy once more."

Guests visiting the new inn will be able to enjoy a seasonal menu including dishes such as a signature twice-baked cheese souffle with Coastal Cheddar sauce; Provençal lamb roulade with confit onion and herb stuffing and a fresh, zesty lemon tart with Normandy crème fraiche.

The Black Swan's Sunday roast features beef and lamb from Aubrey Allen, which supplies the Royal household, as well as unlimited Yorkshires, roast potatoes and gravy.

The menu is accompanied by perfectly poured pints, cask ales and a curated wine and cocktail list. Children are well catered for too with their own specially created menu.

The inn also includes a dog friendly area with complimentary water and treats for canine guests.
