Plans for 20 new homes in Warwick pulled
By James Smith 9th Mar 2026
An application to build 20 new homes in Warwick has been shelved following multiple objections.
Council officers, residents and Warwick Town Council had objected to Sunkari Ltd's proposal for 20, one-bedroom flats on Nelson Lane.
Plans submitted to Warwick District Council would have seen the block of apartments built on scrub land.
However, the application has now been withdrawn from consideration. No reason for this has been shared by the developer.
Warwickshire County Council's highways department had objected to the application, raising concerns about the safety of the roads onto the development.
Other objections were submitted by numerous local residents, Warwick Town Council, local councillors and the district council's housing strategy team.
The latter wrote: "Housing strategy cannot support the proposal in its current form.
"Further engagement is encouraged, including robust viability review and consideration of future affordable housing delivery option."
The planning application stated: "The layout of the site has been designed to make the most efficient use of the land, to respect the neighbouring properties and to respond to the topography of the site.
"The proposed development has been divided into two number blocks – Block A and Block B to reduce the overall massing of the development."
