A new HMO could be opened in Warwick if plans are signed off by council planners.

JR Gill Investments Ltd has applied for permission to convert a four-bedroom house on Emscote Road into a six-bed shared home.

Plans submitted to Warwick District Council show the building would have two bedrooms and a kitchen-diner on the ground floor, with the remaining bedrooms on the first floor.

The second floor would remain used as office and storage space.

The application said: "The existing building is a lawful C3 dwellinghouse that has been in continuous residential use with no interruptions.

"There have been no enforcement notices, no unauthorised changes of use and no breaches of planning control relating to the existing structure.

"The existing house, as shown on the submitted plans, represents the lawful baseline against which the proposed change of use will be assessed."
