A new 20mph speed limit has been imposed on four roads in the centre of Warwick.

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has confirmed the change for Bridge End, Brooke Close, Archery Fields and The Templars.

The roads were all 30mph.

WCC previously held a public consultation on the new speed limits which it described as a "high priority".

The changes were confirmed on September 21.

"The scheme will involve the use of speed reducing traffic signs and road markings within a specific area located to the south of Warwick town centre," the council's website said.

"The new speed limit will help improve the environment by avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road and by preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising."
