Milestone for major redevelopment at Warwick Hospital
By James Smith 9th Oct 2026
NHS bosses have welcomed a "significant step forward" in the major redevelopment of Warwick Hospital.
Last year the new entrance at the Lakin Road site was completed and the new Costa and M&S outlets opened.
Since then, work has continued on the two new wards to be built above the entrance. These are due to be completed in 2027.
This forms phase one of the development.
And as South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust looks ahead on the project, it said it is on the cusp of announcing a new development partner.
"We are also pleased to announce a significant step forward for Phase Two, which will increase clinical capacity to help meet growing healthcare demand," the trust said
"Subject to contract, we have appointed our development partner to support the next stage of this exciting programme."
Phase two will see new day surgery theatres built, as well as an expanded diagnostics department.
The trust is also looking to create a "hospital within a hospital" model which will keep elective care separate from emergency services.
Locals can keep up to date with the redevelopment on the trust's website.
