A man was arrested in a Warwick car theft case after trying to flee site where officers were recovering the car (image via OPU Warwickshire)

A man has been arrested following reports of a car theft from Warwick.

It comes after officers from OPU Warwickshire received reports that a Toyota Hilux had been stolen from an address in Warwick.

Around 15 minutes later, the car was sighted travelling in convoy with a Toyota Prius.

Joined by the WMP Traffic, officers stopped both vehicles near to the Stonebridge Roundabout.

One male was arrested as he tried to get into a taxi around 300 yards down the road from officers who were recovering both vehicles.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify the other suspects.
