Suspected stolen goods worth around £500,000 are being recovered by police in Warwick following a tip-off about a stolen tractor and other items.

Warwick Police's rural crime team located several suspected stolen items at a site off Stratford Road near Warwick on Tuesday afternoon (11 August).

Officers were acting on information from the National Construction and Agricultural Theft Team, which believed a suspected stolen tractor worth around £75,000 was being held at the site.

The team also identified other suspected stolen items, including around £23,000 worth of tyres and car park matting of the type used at large festivals.

Police say a total of around £500,000 worth of items will be recovered from the site.

A 52-year-old man from Warwick was arrested this morning (12 August) on suspicion of handling the stolen goods.

He remains in custody.
