A local farm has applied for permission to install five glamping pods on one of its fields, to expand its already diverse business.

An application has been submitted to Stratford-on-Avon District Council for the development at Hunscote Farm, between Stratford and Wellesboure.

The Stratford Road business is already home to a farm shop and a single holiday let, but the owners say they want to broaden their offer to guests.

"The planning application proposes a modest glamping use in keeping with the character of the farm and wider landscape by expanding upon the existing business of the farm shop and one holiday let on site to supplement the farm income and support the owners' family," the application said.

If approved, the scheme would see two, four-guest pods built, with the remaining three large enough for two people each.

Each pod would have timber cladding and a corrugated metal roof, and would be positioned to "make the most of the rural views".

"The arable field where the pods are to be located among natural surroundings seeded with a wildflower meadow which would be managed to enhance the site for a variety of species," the application added.

"Paths to be mown through the wildflowers to a herb garden and planters for the guests to enjoy and make use of."
