Just days left to join calls for ‘reliable and frequent’ bus service to major new housing estate

Locals have just days left to join calls for the county council to improve access to local buses at a local housing estate.
A petition launched earlier this month is asking for Warwickshire County Council to provide a "reliable and frequent" bus service at The Asps housing estate.
Campaigners say the existing number 69 bus needs to be improved, and the planned park and ride for the Europa Way site needs to be reviewed "as soon as possible".
The deadline for signing the petition is Friday 21 August.
"The Asps is a rapidly growing community with many families, older residents, young people and people who rely on public transport," the petition said.
"While we welcome the planned Park & Ride service, residents also need a reliable local bus service that runs frequently throughout the day.
"The current 69 service is too limited, with only a small number of buses each day, and it only travels to Leamington Spa.
"This makes it difficult for many residents to get to work, school, medical appointments, shops and other essential services, particularly those who need to travel to Warwick.
"We believe The Asps deserves the same level of public transport as other communities.
"A regular service, ideally every 30 minutes, with direct links to both Warwick and Leamington Spa would make a huge difference to people's daily lives, reduce reliance on cars and support a more connected, sustainable community."
The Asps housing development includes 900 homes, a primary school, local centre, open space and park and ride.
It was called in by the secretary of state and signed off in 2016.
The park and ride will have space for four buses to stop, and 443 car parking spaces.
