A new jet wash could replace parking spaces at Warwick's Tesco if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.

The supermarket giant has applied to replace five spaces next to its Emscote Road petrol station with the facility.

Plans show that 1.8-metre-high screens would be built on each side of the jet wash, which would be big enough for just one car to use it at a time.

There is already a drive-through car wash run by IMO at the supermarket's petrol station which already offers hand car washing and valeting service.

Tesco says no trees will be removed but a new floodlight would need to be installed.

It does not say at what times the wash will be available.

Earlier this year the supermarket received permission to remove 11 trees from its car park.

Residents can comment on the application here.
