A Warwick café has applied for permission to keep its outside seating.

Happy Puccia on Smith Street wants to set up three tables and seven chairs, an application for a pavement licence to Warwick District Council shows.

If approved, the permission will allow the Italian coffee shop to use the seating from 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, and from 9am to 5pm Friday to Sunday.

If approved, the café would be allowed to keep the chairs and tables for 12 months.

Plans show the outdoor seating will be surrounded by existing planters put in place by the council.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.

Warwick cafés Pastelaria Portuguesa and The Tuckery recently had their applications for a pavement licence approved by the local authority, as did the Railway Inn.
