The Green Party has taken the vacant All Saints & Woodloes seat at Warwick Town Council.

Clare Bryan was elected in yesterday's by-election, beating second-placed Moira-Ann Grainger (Conservative) and district councillor Claire Wightman (Warwick Independent Residents Association) who finish third.

The vote comes after the resignation of Cllr John Sullivan in December due to health issues.

The Green's candidate took 684 of the 1,716 votes cast, with the turnout for the election just 24.48 per cent.

The Results in Full:

  • Clare Bryan (Green Party) - 684
  • Moira-Ann Grainger (Conservatives) - 372
  • Claire Wightman (WIRA) - 304
  • Michael Dray (Labour) - 207
  • Laurence Byrne (Liberal Democrats) - 133
