Council planners have given the green light for a building in a "poor state of repair" at Warwick Hospital to be demolished.
South Warwickshire NHS University Foundation Trust has been given prior approval to flatten block 140 which is in one of the car parks at Lakin Road.
The application to Warwick District Council said: "The proposed demolition relates to a modular building (Block 140) located in Car Park C of Warwick Hospital, accessed off Lakin Road.
"The building has previously been used as a bed decontamination unit as part of the hospital's wider service provision.
"It is a single storey modular building."
Plans state the unit will be replaced with another building "serving a different purpose".
Signing off on the plans, a council report said: "Officers are further satisfied that the correct process has been followed and evidence has been provided of the Site Notice which was erected on the land.
"Based on the information provided, a site visit and consideration of the works, including the constraints associated with the site, it is recommended that prior approval is required and approved."
The application comes as the trust unveiled the new entrance at Warwick Hospital this month.
The major milestone forms part of the wider renovations at the hospital.
