GALLERY: Warwick Mop Fair returns for 2022

By James Smith 17th Oct 2022

Fantastic images sent to Nub News by local photographer Geoff Ousbey show the town out in force at the first weekend of the Warwick Mop Fair 2022.

The annual event took over the town centre across the weekend with families enjoying food, stalls and the fun fair.

The mop is said to date back to the reign of Edward III and is hosted on the Friday and Saturday following the 12 of October, with the 'Runaway Mop' held the following Friday and Saturday.

On Friday (October 13) the event had a "relaxed opening" for a few hours specifically for the children from Evergreen School.

The rides were not open to the general public until the mop was opened by the Mayor of Warwick and the Town Crier at 12 noon on Saturday 14.

Organisers took to social media to say: "A big thank you to everyone who came out yesterday...who's ready to do it all again next weekend for the Runaway Mop?"

Details of road closures can be found here.
