Anti-migrant protestors headed to Warwick's town centre today to voice their views on immigration.
They were met by counter-protestors in Market Place who made their feelings heard that immigrants and asylum seekers are welcome in Warwickshire.
There was a large police presence in the town centre as several hundred people gathered to demonstrate.
The protest was organised by group Patriotic Alternative who said the rally was called following the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton last year. The trial of the two men accused of the crime - both Afghan asylum seekers - is ongoing.
With numbers growing through the morning, the group had a number of speakers in the early afternoon.
Demonstrators - many of whom wore face coverings - held banners saying "stop the boats," "reimigration now" and "secure our borders".

One of the speakers told the crowd: "We are here today to protest against the housing of illegal migrants in Warwick.
"Our protest today is aimed at the government.
"It doesn't matter which party is in power, whether it is Labour or the Tories, they are both the same; two sides of the same coin."
She continued: "Our protest today is about the government. It is clear, we do not just want the illegals moving out of Warwick and Birmingham to a different city, we want them out of the country full stop."
However, the protestors were met in greater numbers by counter protestors who were in Warwick from mid-morning.
Banners saying "our love is stronger than your hate," "we stand together," and "will trade racists for refugees" were seen outside Shire Hall.

One member of the group 'Stand up to Racism' told Nub News: "This group, Patriotic Alternative, they have come here from a long way away to spread hate and vitriol and horrendous views.
"Warwickshire is showing they are clearly anti-facist and not interested in any of the stuff these guys are saying.
"I wasn't expecting this many people but Warwickshire has proved me wrong. It makes me very, very proud to live here."
Counter-protesters alleged when they were holding a minute's silence to pay tribute to the child victim in Nuneaton, they were deliberately disrupted by the protestors.
Police formed a line between the two groups to keep them separated.
"They have a policy of re-immigration which is an inherently racist policy," the Stand up to Racism member continued.
"We are not a racist town and we are proving that with how many people we have mobilised this morning.
"They believe in many horrible, racist theories, wrapped up in the guise of concerned citizens."

He added: "They are not here because they are worried about women and girls.
"They are here to spread hate and then move on to the next town."
Warwick Market was still run in the town centre, but there were fewer stalls than usual with some stallholders deciding not to attend due to the protest.
Two men have been charged over the alleged rape in July 2025; their trial began last week.
Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, has previously pleaded guilty to one charge of raping a child under the age of 13, but has denied two further counts as well as denying abducting a child, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of taking indecent photos of a child.
Mohammad Kabir, 24, has denied charges of intentional strangulation, committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence and attempted abduction.
The jury in the trial retired to consider its verdicts on Friday (February 6).
A previous demonstration was held outside the hotel in Warwick in December.
