Road closure details for the Commonwealth Games in Warwick have been released ahead of the town hosting the cycling road race this Sunday (August 7).

The route will start and finish at a ticketed venue at St Nicholas Park, and will take in a 16km loop through the town centre, out to Budbrooke, and to the edge of Leamington Spa.

The course will be completed seven times by the women in the morning and then ten times by the men in the afternoon.

Warwickshire County Council has revealed the full road closure details and has said residents and businesses will not have access to the closed roads until the closures have been removed.

Pedestrian access will be maintained with marshalled pedestrian crossing points located along the course.

Whilst most of the roads will only be closed from 3am on Sunday morning, Myton Road will be closed between Banbury Road and Myton Gardens from 10am on Wednesday, August 3 until 8pm on Monday, August 8.

The A46 will remain open but both slip roads at Budbrooke roundabout will be closed on Sunday.
