A former Warwick schoolteacher has appeared in court after being charged with a string of non-recent sexual offences.

Paul Stainsby, aged 75, was a teacher at Warwick School in the 1980s, when the offences are alleged to have taken place.

In December, Stainsby, was charged with nine counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency involving a boy under sixteen years of age.

The charges are in connection with incidents involving five different boys.

He appeared before magistrates in Leamington on Friday, 23 January, and is scheduled to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 20 February for a plea hearing.
