A former language school in Sherbourne, which dates back to the 19th century, is currently on the market for over £2million.

Sherbourne Priors on Watery Lane, was first used as a training centre from 1978 and then latterly a English language school with five classrooms and a games rooms.

Now, the nine-bedroom building is currently being listed on Rightmove, for £2,500,000.

The former school was granted approval to be transformed into a residential property back in 2022.

The decision report stated: "The property was originally a dwellinghouse prior to its use as a training centre and language school, and therefore returning the building back to its original use is considered to preserve the character of the conservation area."

Sherbourne Priors was built in 1865, a fine example of Victorian architecture by the prolific Architect of the era, Sir George Gilbert Scott.

It was occupied as a private house until 1978, thereafter used as a training centre and latterly a language school.

According to its Rightmove listing, the property, also a former vicarage, currently hosts nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

It also has a cellar including wine cellar, an annex with one- and two-bedroom ancillary accommodation, extensive garaging, outbuildings and a private courtyard.

Set within circa three acres of private tranquil grounds, the site is"within a highly sought-after Warwickshire village."

Sherbourne Priors also sits within the Sherbourne Conservation Area.
