Flood alerts remain in place around Warwick, followed continued heavy rainfall.

The Environment Agency has alerts in place along the Rivers Avon, Leam and Itchen.

"River levels are high but steady at the Stratford gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall," an alert this afternoon (February 23) said.

"Consequently, the risk of flooding remains.

"We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon between Rugby and Bidford including Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, caravan parks and farmland.

"Further showers are forecast over the weekend.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.

"Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses."

The flood warning at Gog Brook has been removed again.
