Union Jack and St George's flags have been put up across Warwick overnight.

Installed by group 'Raise the Colours', the flags have been installed on lampposts across the town centre.

This includes along High Street, Stratford Road and Castle Hill.

The group - which live-streamed its activities on social media - began at the Delta Hotel on Stratford Road where asylum seekers have been housed for over a year.

Flags were installed permanently on lampposts there, and the group held a huge banner outside the front of the hotel for a while before moving on.

The banner - also a Union Jack - said 'Stopping the Boats' and 'Raise the Colours' on it.

Police attended the scene to talk to the group.

Volunteers from 'Stand Up To Racism' have already told Nub News they will try to remove the flags.

The flags come just weeks after anti-migration group 'Patriotic Alternative' held a protest in Warwick town centre.
