By Amanda Chalmers 19th Feb 2026
The Fleur de Lys pub in Lowsonford is preparing to welcome in spring with a host of special activity days.
The pub is partnering with local businesses for the special events, including painting, candle making and a family Easter Egg Hunt.
Thursday 12 March, sees the return of The Artibus Yard, based in Kenilworth, for an evening of guided candle making by Samantha Harris, plus a complimentary glass fizz and nibbles.
In this hands-on session, from 7pm, you'll learn the art of soy wax candle making, exploring scents, pouring techniques, and finishing touches. Whether a total beginner or looking to refine your skills, guests will leave with their own handcrafted jar candle alongside two tea lights and the knowledge to keep creating at home.
There will also be the chance to purchase the limited-edition Fleur de Lys diffuser, created by The Artibus Yard.

Later in the month, on Thursday 26 March , local artist Lisa Lowe will be leading a Sip & Paint Workshop at the pub between 7-9.30pm.
Lisa will guide guests through the artistic process, exploring acrylic paint to create your own mini masterpiece to take home. The ticket also includes a welcome drink, grazing board and everything needed to create the masterpiece!
Tickets for both these events are £35 and are available here.
Then, on Sunday 5 April the focus will move to the pub gardens where The Good Day Farm bring a menagerie of creatures to meet. Plus there'll be an Easter theme to the day with a family egg hunt, arts and crafts and egg and spoon races to enjoy.
The day gets under way from 9.30am and tickets are £12.50 for children but free for adults.
On World Book Night, on 23 April local author Anna Byk, from Solihull, will come under the spotlight.
Falling within the #ReadingHour for World Book Night, Anna will be talking about her debut novel, 'It's Never Really Over.' Focusing on five women all linked by their stories, it is partially set in Warwickshire, boasting references to Stratford and Shakespeare as well as other local landmarks. Anna will also discuss her writing and publishing journey and the evening will conclude with a Q&A session and an opportunity to buy a signed copy of the book.

The date almost marks UNESCO International Day of the Book, chosen in honour of the day that Shakespeare and Cervantes both died in 1616 (also rumoured to be Shakespeare's birthday!) The event takes place between 7.30-8.30pm. It's advisable to book a free ticket here.
Owner Emma Woodhouse said: "We're always keen to give people plenty of reasons to visit the Fleur De Lys beyond the obvious pie and a pint, so it's really exciting to have a buffet of different events for customers to feast on. It's essential to keep old buildings like this in use as much as possible, and with the spiralling costs of being a hospitality business it's critical that we're providing as much value as possible for our patrons. Collaborating with other local small businesses and artisans is our favourite thing to do, so we hope plenty of people will come and enjoy something new at The Fleur this Spring."
The Fleur De Lys is a 15th Century inn famous for award-winning pies, nestled in the picturesque village of Lowsonford on the banks of the Stratford Canal between winding roads which used to be part of The Forest of Arden.
The garden boasts an acre of land and is also popular as a stop-off for canal users.
