Five Warwick pubs have featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2024 as the UK's best-selling beer and pub guide celebrates its 51st anniversary this year.

The Cape of Good Hope, Four Penny Pub, the Eagle, the Old Post Office and the Wild Boar have all been included among the 4,500 of the country's best pubs.

As with previous years, the latest edition has been compiled by thousands of independent volunteers.

This year's guide comes with a striking cover and a foreword supplied by Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson.

Dickinson's foreword shines a spotlight on the cultural tradition of pubs within the United Kingdom, the importance of protecting the heritage, charm and welcoming nature of pubs and clubs, and not taking them for granted.

Across Warwickshire some 48 pubs are covered - including six new entries - as well as 14 breweries.

The guide praises the "friendly staff" at the Cape of Good Hope, saying they are "knowledgeable and proud to serve real ales".

The Eagle is described as a "quirky, little pub" with "cosy and friendly" seating.

Six changing ales are available at the Four Penny Pub which is set in a 200-year-old building and is praised for its "relaxed atmosphere".

Of the Old Post Office, the guide says: "It is a traditional yet quirky establishment, with an interesting interior featuring eclectic curios adorning the walls."

Meanwhile the Wild Boar taphouse for the Slaughterhouse Brewery gets praised for its patio area and hop garden.
