A brand-new purpose-built nursery and pre-school is to open in Warwick later this year.

Ahead of its upcoming opening, its launch was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony last week, and was attended by the Mayor of Warwick and Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western, alongside prospective parents who were invited to see the facilities for the first time.

Located in Midcounties' Headquarters at Co-operative House in the Warwick Technology Park, the brand-new Your Co-op Little Pioneers Nursery and pre-school has space for up to 68 children aged 3 months to 5 years and will provide on-site childcare to Midcounties colleagues, as well as for surrounding businesses and the local community.

Your Co-op Little Pioneers is run by one of the UK's largest independent co-operatives, The Midcounties Co-operative. Its mission is to provide a holistic, child-centric approach to education, helping every child to become their best selves whilst also learning about the communities and world they live in.

Each child and family in the new Warwick nursery will have an allocated key worker who will listen and work with them in partnership to make sure they're getting the best from nursery life, from updates on their child's progress to advice on toilet training, food, friendships, sleeping patterns and more.

The nursery includes two rooms – the Little Learners room for children aged 2-5 and the Little Explorers room for children aged 0-2 – as well as a shared garden space. Each room has a tailored environment for each age group to support their learning and development, while ensuring they have fun at the same time.

All Your Co-op Little Pioneers settings hold the Millie's Mark accreditation and are strongly recommended by parents on website Day Nurseries with a score of 9.6. They also have Eco-Schools Silver status as a minimum, which recognises their efforts to empower children to understand and take responsibility for their environmental impact. The nursery team at Warwick will seek to secure these accolades quickly after opening.

Sally Bonnar, Chief Operating Officer for Childcare at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: "The opening of this fantastic site is a milestone moment for our childcare business, allowing us to give every colleague at our Headquarters and lots of families in the local area access to high quality childcare and early years education.

"We already operate several nurseries within workplaces across the UK so we know the benefits that workplace nurseries can bring to parents and children. By opening this nursery within our head office, we're giving our parents total peace of mind that their children are in an amazing environment where our excellent team can support them to grow and develop, as well as offering maximum convenience and flexibility."

The ceremony marks the next stage in The Midcounties Co-operative's ambitious five-year growth plan that will see it bring the Little Pioneers brand to so many more communities across the country.

Parents at the nursery can choose to become a member of The Midcounties Co-operative, giving them access to exclusive members' offers and deals. Whether it's buying food cupboard essentials, holidays in the sun or even two-year broadband contracts, members can save more every day across Midcounties' family of services.

Becoming a Midcounties member also means that every time they spend with Midcounties, it goes towards supporting local causes that they care about, helping to build a fairer, more sustainable and ethical future.
